Hi,
I have a DAW on my music computer, but not on my “dev” laptop.
In order to test my patches on this laptop with OwlSim, I have to install a DAW.
Is there a free (and light) DAW available somewhere which is VST or AU compatible ?

Check out Reaper.
In the open source spirit you should try Audacity as a DAW. http://audacity.sourceforge.net/
It works on most platforms and support many plugin types including VST and AU.

For testing VSTs I use VSTLord, only because it is so light and quick to start up. It’s not exactly a DAW, though!

On OSX I use AU Lab for testing. It’s now part of the “Audio Tools for Xcode” package. It crashes now and then (usually because of bugs in my plugins), but otherwise it’s nice and simple, and quick to load.
