Programming in Max4Live

Hello Folks,

I have a Lich on the way and am vacuuming up tutorials on programming and generally getting myself up to speed. Im no programmer but am not precisely new to this. I don’t have MaxMSP as a standalone, only within Ableton as M4L.

Spent some time looking around and cannot see if its possible to use M4L for the purposes of using it to programme OWL, if not I guess I’ll have to learn PD…

OWL supports compilation of patches written in gen~. As far as I understand, it’s usable both in standalone Max/MSP and M4L, but requires purchasing a separate license.

Regarding PD, OWL runs code compiled with the Heavy compiler, it’s not the same thing as desktop PD. You should have a look at the docs site for more details.
