Just a quick message as I have a minor problem with my owl. The effects only seem to affect the left channel for some reason and so I only get effects in the left ear. Any idea why this might be?

We hope to add some more weirdness with further releases 
Regarding mono / stereo patches, have a look at the patch list:

The Inputs/Outputs column will tell you if it is a stereo or mono effect, or a synthesis patch.
For mono effects, provided the capacity of the device is not exceeded (cycles and bytes) you can put the same effect on both slots in Parallel mode to get independent stereo processing.
