Future Products

What other products would you like Rebel Technology to create?

Some ideas:

  • Pitch Sequencer
  • FM VCO
  • Mixers and VCAs
  • VCF
  • Delay / Looper Pedal
  • Phaser / Flanger Pedal
  • Desktop synth / fx
  • Rackmount Effects Processor

I would love to see a 4-track CV recorder with presets stored on internal storage. There would be a global input for switching presets and master tempo. It would likely need a small display with an encoder for modulation. Each channel would have:

  1. CV input
  2. CV output for recorded signal
  3. button for storing last buffer that came through channel in previous period
  4. trigger input (normalized to the master tempo) for restarting CV loop playback.

The idea is to be able to record multiple loops of CV data synchronized to different tempo subdivisions, then switch between scenes. This way a complex modulation signal can be stored and reproduced later (without original CV generators). It should be about 10-12 HP wide.

That’s quite detailed! We’ve been working on an expander module for the OWL which adds 16 configurable cv/trigger in/out. You could probably do it with that. No date for the release though, it’s turned in to a long, slow project…

I really really really REALLY want a looper with adjustable repeats. So for instance, instead of repeating every layer over and over, set it to #1 and it only repeats any given layer once, while you overlay the next layer.

Cool!
The Wizard could make a nice looping device, with 4 assignable buttons and 5 knobs.
Maybe you could have two layers with a record and play button each.
Apart from the number of repeats, what would the controls be?

A filter or pitch/arp pedal would be rad, but I would still probably wait for the Owl to be in working order before taking another plunge.

Good question.
Well I suppose like a normal looper you would have:
Input volume for each input
Playback volume

There’s also a Reverse Playback (plays everything recorded so far backwards, but not what you record after pressing it) on the Loop Station. Its not a lot of use, but possibly could be if it played back what you record after pressing it backwards.

When you say two layers do you mean separate loopers? That would be cool too. I would really like that.
